Here's some other examples of final finishes at 533 W149th
Street. The top picture is the bedroom from Apt. #3. Fireplace mantle was
completely stripped and refinished. Doors are all old reclaimed doors that
were hand refinished as well. Old shutters were used as doors for the
storage space above the two spacious closets.
Below you can see one of the bedrooms of the garden duplex.
Here we chose to paint the bricks on the right to give better light to the
apartment. Wood molding from an old entry door was used as a decorative
element on the left wall. A glass insert was placed in the door to the room
in order to allow better light flow from front to back. |
